Man killed in Laois crash

A 31-year-old man has been killed in a collision in Co Laois this morning.

It happened when the car he was driving crashed on the road between Mountmellick and Rosenallis between 4am and 5.30am.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed while technical examinations are carried out, and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
