Bank of Ireland is refunding around 40,000 people after they withdrew money from an ATM - but forgot to take it with them.

Yesterday, the bank admitted it has to pay back around €3m for the four years up to October 2009 after a systems failure which meant the more forgetful among us did not get a refund.
