A 27-year-old man who drowned in a remote area of Australia was from west Belfast.

A 27-year-old man who drowned in a remote area of Australia was from west Belfast.

Tony Norney, who was from the Poleglass area, got into difficulties while swimming in a lake at the Kakadu national park.

He was camping with 20 friends when the accident happened on Saturday night.

Father Vincent Cushnahan at the Parish of the Nativity in Poleglass said the whole community was stunned by the tragedy.
