Two Limerick men have pleaded not guilty to the murder of a Ukrainian teenager in Limerick two years ago.

Sixteen-year-old Roman Vysochan was found lying on the footpath at the entrance to the Carraig Midhe estate in Corbally with stab wounds to his chest on May 10, 2008.

John O’Loughlin, of Cecil Street, Limerick, today denied murdering the teenager, at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick.

The 20-year-old admitted assaulting another teenager on the same date.

Anthony Mason (aged 18) from Bishop Street, pleaded not guilty to the murder and assault charges.

An application by the defence to have the two accused men tried separately was refused by Mr Justice Paul Carney.

The trial was adjourned until tomorrow after Mr Justice Carney discharged a man from the jury.
