Public libraries set for cash boost

Public libraries are set to benefit from a €7.8m cash injection, it was announced today.

Minister for Housing and Local Services, Michael Finneran, has given the green light to a two-year programme to boost facilities throughout the country.

It is hoped that the move will enhance "the quality of civic life in communities all across the country".
