Labour calls for retrofit programme to start

Labour's spokesperson on Communications Liz McManus is calling on the Government to implement the National Retrofit Programme for home insulation as fears mount that electricity prices are set to rise in the autumn.

The €50m scheme was announced in last year's Budget but has yet to proceed.

Energy Minister Eamon Ryan has said that prices for business and homeowners will rise by between 4% and 5% coming into the winter.
