Campaigners welcome Fr Bermingham resignation

Clerical abuse campaigners have welcomed the resignation of Fr Bill Bermingham from his position as child protection delegate in the Diocese of Cloyne.

He resigned yesterday evening, saying despite his best intentions, he had lost the confidence of abuse victims.
