Man dies after crashing into road sign

A man's died today after losing control of his car and crashing into a road sign in Co Clare.

The 62-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at Dough on the main Ennistymon to Lahinch road at around 11am this morning.

His body was removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

Gardaí are hoping it will establish whether the man may have collapsed at the wheel of his car before losing control of the vehicle.
