The removal of the former Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Dermot Earley will take place in Kildare tonight.
The 62-year-old - who died on Wednesday after being ill for several months - will be buried with full military honours tomorrow.
The GAA All Star winner retired from his position earlier this month. He had been Chief of Staff for the past three years.
His remains will repose in St. Brigid's Garrison Church in The Curragh from 1pm today before being removed to St Conleth's Church in Newbridge at 8.30pm.
His funeral Mass will take place at 11am tomorrow.
Lieutenant General Earley is survived by his mother Kitty, his wife Mary and their six children David, Dermot, Conor, Paula, Ann-Marie and Noelle.
