Maynooth to open conflict centre in Ted Kennedy's memory

A new Centre for Conflict Intervention is to be set up at NUI Maynooth to honour the late Senator Ted Kennedy.

The facility - the first of its kind in Ireland - will specialise in conflict resolution, mediation, leadership and civic engagement.

The centre is being established to acknowledge Ted Kennedy’s commitment to Ireland and his role in securing peace in the North.

The plan was announced this afternoon by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen and NUI Maynooth president, Professor John Hughes.
