Harney wants 'more clarity' on deaths while in HSE care

Government representatives will meet with the HSE later today to discuss the number of young people who have died while in State care in the past decade.

Figures released last Friday revealed the deaths of 151 youngsters in the past ten years - all had either been known to social services or had previously been in care.

Health minister Mary Harney said she wants "more clarity" before the figures can be properly addressed.
