Foundation stone laid for new Mullingar care facility

The foundation stone has been laid for a new 100-bed unit at St. Mary's Care Centre in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

The new building will comprise 52 beds for older persons and and 48 beds for the Psychiatry of Old Age.

These will replace the existing beds in the old St. Mary’s and St. Loman's facilities respectively.

Minister for State with responsibility for Disability and Mental Health John Moloney was in Mullingar for today's ceremony.
