Gardaí questioning pair in connection with Limerick shooting

Gardaí in Limerick are still questioning a man and a woman today in connection with a shooting which has left a 20-year-old fighting for his life.

Gardaí in Limerick are still questioning a man and a woman today in connection with a shooting which has left a 20-year-old fighting for his life.

Daniel Phillips, 20, was shot in the head and chest at St John's Square in Limerick on Monday night.

He is in a critical condition in hospital.

At a special court sitting last night, gardaí were granted permission to question the suspected gunman for a further 72 hours.

They were also granted permission to question a 26-year-old woman, who is suspected of withholding information, until tonight.
