Govt 'had to act to tackle banking crisis': Ryan

The Government had no choice but to take action to tackle the banking crisis, Communications Minister Eamon Ryan said today.

In the face of strong criticism of the bank bailout from a leading economist, Mr Ryan said the Government had taken the right decisions and the country was now coming out of recession.
