Man loses finger in Ennis assault

A man has had one of his fingers cut off after being assaulted while collecting his children from school in Co. Clare.

A group of men armed with a variety of weapons, including a machete, pulled up in a car alongside the man on the Kilrush Road in Ennis town at around 3pm this afternoon.
