Boyle: “Greens will not support pension cut”

Green Party chairman Dan Boyle has ruled out a cut in the State pension saying the Green Party would not support such a proposal.

It is feared that an across-the-board cut to the contributory and non-contributory pensions was on the cards as the Government seeks further savings.

However, in a twitter post this morning, Senator Boyle said talk of a pension cut was getting out of hand.

“I’m not expecting such a proposal and if made The Green Party would not support it,” the Senator tweeted.
