Ireland celebrates Africa Day

Thousands of people are taking part in a series of nationwide events today celebrating Africa Day.

Drumming workshops, a fashion show, a film festival and live music are some of the programme highlights in Dublin and at 30 locations across the country.

Minister for Overseas Aid Peter Power says the aim of Africa Day is to showcase the rich heritage of the large African community in Ireland.
