Gardaí arrest two after arms find in Wicklow

Two men have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a machine gun, a handgun and ammunition in Co Wicklow on Wednesday.

The discovery was made following the search of a van in Baltinglass.

The men, aged 36 and 52, are being held at Baltinglass Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident yesterday, gardaí in Tallaght, Dublin, recovered two rifles and ammunition following a planned search of a laneway at Hazel Grove, Killinarden.

The rifles are believed to have been taken during a burglary in Wexford in 2009.
