Man arrested in connection with Midleton murder

Gardaí investigating the murder of a 57-year-old mother of three in Co Cork last month have arrested a 46-year-old man.

The man was arrested in Cork city at 9pm on Wednesday night by detectives investigating the murder of Catherine Smart at her home at Bailick Court in Midleton on April 4th.

It is understood the man is to appear at Midleton District Court on Thursday.
