Third white-tailed eagle found dead in Kerry

Another white-tailed eagle has been found dead in Beaufort, Co Kerry.

The dead bird was found on Sunday in the Laune River by a group of kayakers, the third eagle to have died in the area in the last month.

Investigators say they believe all three birds died from consuming an animal carcass laced with the banned poison Carbofuran.

It brings to 14 the number of white-tailed eagles found dead since they were reintroduced into the area in 2007.
