Man remanded in custody in connection with Limerick drugs seizure

A 36-year-old man has been remanded in custody after he was charged in connection with a significant drugs seizure in Limerick.

Trevor Cobbett of Sandymount Close, Lisburn, Co Antrim is accused of having cannabis worth around €240,000 for sale or supply.

He was arrested yesterday morning after the drugs were found in a car which was stopped near the village of Castleconnell.

During a special sitting of Limerick District Court this afternoon, Mr Cobbett did not apply for bail and the case was adjourned until next Wednesday, May 12
