Irish student Natasha McShane, who suffered serious head injuries after she was attacked by a mugger in Chicago last month, is out of a coma.

The 23-year-old Armagh native, a student at the University of Illinois in Chicago, was with friend Stacey Jurich when they were attacked by muggers with aluminium baseball bats while on the way back to Ms Jurich’s house in the Bucktown area of the city.
