No alternative to recovery plans, Harney tells nurses

The Health Minister Mary Harney is warning nurses that there is no alternative to the economic recovery plans being implemented by the Government.

Ms Harney made the comments in her address at the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation Annual conference in Co Meath today - where she was met with a silent welcome.

Delegates at the conference unanimously passed a motion yesterday recommending that the 43,000 INMO members reject the public sector pay and reform deal.
