Three Spanish women have been told to leave the country after they admitted running a brothel in Limerick city.

The women, who range in age from 20 to 39, appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this afternoon.

They were arrested after gardaí searched an apartment at Sir Harry's Mall last night following a three-week surveillence operation.

€770 in cash, eight mobile phones and a laptop computer were all seized at the apartment.

Judge Tom O'Donnell imposed suspended jail sentences on each of the women on condition they leave the country in the coming week.
