High Court throws out challenge to coroner

The High Court has thrown out a challenge by a widow to a coroner’s finding that cannabis smoking contributed to her husband’s fatal heart attack.

Mother of six Fiona Byrne, from Glenshane Grove, in Tallaght asked the court to review the Dublin County Coroner’s finding into the death of her 37-year-old husband Paul.

Dr Kieran Geraghty based his finding that Mr Byrne died by misadventure on a pathology report that was carried out following his death in November 2005.
