Labour TD surrenders Dáil pension

Labour TD Emmet Stagg has this morning announced he is giving up his Dáil pension.

It follows the decision last night of Máire Geoghegan Quinn to 'gift' her Ministerial and Dáil pension to the State while she is a European Commissioner.

Emmet Stagg is the first of the remaining group of people claiming a pension who are also practicing politicians to adopt a similar approach.
