Former PD to contest election for Labour

Former Progressive Democrat TD Mae Sexton is to run for the Labour Party in the next election.

Labour Leader Eamon Gilmore will make the announcement in Longford this morning.

Councillor Sexton, was a TD between 2002 and 2007 and will now run alongside sitting TD for Longford Westmeath Willie Penrose.

Labour is beefing up its candidates in a bid to become the largest party in the Dáil after the next election.
