Jury fail to agree on final counts in abuse trial

The jury in the trial of a Dublin father accused of more than 100 counts of sexual and physical abuse against his daughter have failed to agree on a verdict on 45 of the charges before them.

Last Friday the Central Criminal Court jury returned verdicts of guilty on 20 counts of sexual assault, 19 counts of oral rape and 19 counts of anal rape on dates between 2001 and 2006. He is to be sentenced in May.
