Woman killed in Wexford car crash

A woman was killed and four other people injured in a car crash, gardaí said today.

The accident happened at Begerin, New Ross, Co Wexford, at around 8.30pm yesterday.

A 22-year-old woman in the front passenger seat died while the 19-year-old female driver and three other male passengers were taken to Waterford Regional Hospital and Wexford General.

Gardaí said their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

No other vehicles were involved.

Garda forensic investigators are examining the scene and the road was closed off.
