Navy to provide rescue cover in west

A naval vessel has been dispatched to the west coast to provide emergency search and rescue cover.

It follows the grounding of aircraft by the volcanic ash cloud.

The LE Ciara is taking up position around 50 nautical miles off Loop Head for the immediate future, until conditions improve.
