Gardai are continuing to question a woman in her 20s in connection with the discovery of a gun and drugs in Limerick yesterday.

Gardaí are continuing to question a woman in her 20s in connection with the discovery of a gun and drugs in Limerick yesterday.

A shotgun and an estimated €5,000 worth of cannabis, were discovered at a house in Shanabooley Road, Ballynanty yesterday.

Armed gardaí arrested the woman during a planned raid on the house.

She is being held at Henry Street garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The woman can be questioned for up to three days without charge.
