Murder victim Catherine Smart laid to rest in Cork
Cork woman Catherine Smart, who was murdered in Midleton on Easter Sunday morning, has been laid to rest today.
Friends and family gathered for the Mass at the Church of the most Holy Rosary in Midleton to pay their final respects to the 57-year-old mother of three.
Dean Eamon Goulde gave the homily at today's funeral Mass.
He remembered Ms Smart's love of playing cards and said of her death: "Last Sunday morning...Catherine experienced Good Friday and Easter Sunday all in one…(She) was crucified with Christ and we believe and hope that she rose with Him to new life."
