Limerick braced for Good Friday revellers
Limerick city is bracing itself for an influx of revellers ahead of the Munster v Leinster rugby match that is making legal history.
The traditional ban on selling alcohol on Good Friday is being lifted for five hours this evening, so pubs in the city can enjoy a boost in revenue from the occasion.
Munster are set to take on Leinster at Thomond Park in a Magners League fixture that a judge in the district court decided warranted an exemption on the grounds of being a special event.
Not everyone is happy with the decision, but some believe it will pave the way for further exemptions.
