Post mortem on Waterford assault victim

A post mortem examination will be carried out later on the body of Damien Organ who died in hospital in Waterford yesterday following an assault last month.

25-year-old Damien Organ and his 27-year-old brother Liam were attacked by a group of up to five people using sticks and hurleys in People's Park in Waterford city at around midnight on Sunday March 21.

Both men were taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, and at around 5pm yesterday evening, Damien lost his fight for life.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident - two of them have been charged and are due in court in Waterford again later this month.

The State Patholigist has been notified and a post mortem examination will be carried this afternoon.
