Quinn workers in Dáil protest

Around 300 workers from Quinn Insurance have held a demonstration outside the Dáil over the High Court decision to appoint administrators to the company.

They are claiming the Financial Regulator acted unfairly in seeking to have administrators brought in, and say they're concerned about their jobs.

Around 5,500 people are employed by Quinn insurance at offices in Enniskillen, Cavan, Navan, Cork and Blanchardstown.

Spokesman Donal Crotty said workers are worried that Quinn's reputation has been damaged by the High Court's decision.

"The reputation of that company has been thrown to the wind by the Regulator," Mr Crotty said. "And basically that affects our ability to do business."
