The incoming chairman of Anglo Irish Bank has admitted that he cannot rule out the need for taxpayers to inject even more money into the now nationalised institution.

The bank's released its financial results this afternoon - a loss of €12.7bn for the 15-month period to the end of 2009, the biggest corporate loss in Irish history.
