Some of the capital's best-known pubs will open on Good Friday in a move to challenge the traditional ban on trading.

The Irish Examiner reports that Charlie Chawke's chain of bars in Dublin, Kildare and Adare, Co Limerick, will be open for business on Friday.

Mr Chawke said he will stay within the law by not serving alcohol.
