Taoiseach rejects backbench criticism

Taoiseach Brian Cowen has today rejected a call for him to consider his position by Fianna Fáil backbencher John McGuinness.

The former Junior Minister accused the Taoiseach of being a weak leader and putting the party and tribalism ahead of the country.
