Taxi drivers have staged a go slow protest on the M50 in Dublin, demanding reform of the industry.

Traffic had already been slow after a serious traffic accident earlier.

A convoy of slow moving vehicles progressed from Dublin Airport along the motorway to the Blanchardstown roundabout and returned via the same route.

There is also no taxi service at Dublin airport this evening, while drivers are also staging work stoppages at ranks in towns and cities across the country.

The action will last until 5am morning.
