Clubs join forces to clean up waterways

Around 400 people will help clean up our waterways today.

The Irish Canoe Union and Surf Rider Europe have joined forces to raise awareness about the effect of marine and seashore waste.

Clean-ups are taking place in many counties including Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Limerick, Sligo, Galway and Cork.

It is all part of a European-wide initiative which will see more than 15,000 people take part over this weekend.
