Gardaí resume questioning of Anglo's ex-boss Fitzpatrick
Gardaí are resuming questioning of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Séan Fitzpatrick this morning.
Mr Fitzpatrick was arrested by fraud squad officers yesterday as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
The former Chairman of Anglo Irish Bank was arrested at his home in Greystones yesterday morning and taken to Bray garda station for questioning.
His period of detention was due to expire at 6.30am today, but questioning was suspended overnight to allow him to sleep.
The former Anglo chair is now facing at least another five hours of questioning.
He will remain in garda custody until later this afternoon, at which stage gardaí will have to decide whether to release or charge the former banker.
