Two men have died on Ireland's roads overnight.

One man died following a suspected hit-and-run in Co. Leitrim.

It is believed the 38-year-old was knocked down on the Hilly Road in Drumshanbo last night.

Gardaí are trying to establish how the man was killed, he was found on the Hilly Road in Drumshanbo last night.

Gardaí believe he was killed in a suspected hit and run and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at around 10.30pm last night to contact them.

Meanwhile, a man has died following a road accident in Co. Mayo.

The accident happened when two cars collided on Barrack Street in Charlestown at around 10.30pm last night.

The driver of one of the cars was rushed to hospital, but later died.
