Road re-opens after fatal accident

A section of the N3 outside Belturbet in Co Cavan which had been closed for a technical examination after a woman died yesterday has re-opened.

It is believed the woman in her 60s stopped her car on the hard should of the road near Aghalane.

When she got out to take a phone call the vehicle rolled forward and collided with her.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
