Green Party Chairman Dan Boyle has said he would like to see John Gormley stay on as Minister for the Environment in the event of a Cabinet reshuffle.

Speculation has been mounting as to which positions the Greens might take on in a reshuffle.

It is believed the Greens have an agreement to rotate ministries in the event of a reshuffle.

Senator Dan Boyle said he had every confidence in Ciaran Cuffe, but that he would prefer John Gormley as Environment Minister.

"I have every confidence in both of them (Cuffe and Gormley)...but my own preference is that John Gormley is doing a good job," he said.
