Aer Lingus pilots accept €35m cost-cutting plan
Pilots at Aer Lingus have voted by an 81% majority to accept a €35m cost-cutting plan at the airline.
The proposal will involve 70 redundancies, a 10% reduction in pay and increased pension contributions.
The airline wants to save €97m by cutting costs across the board.
The President of the Irish Airline Pilots' Association Captain Evan Cullen said that while the money-saving measures were severe, his members were conscious of the difficult economic climate.
