Andrews denies report 'cover-up'
The Children's Minister Barry Andrews has denied that he tried to cover up a report into the death of an 18-year old mother of two who was in the care of the State.
Fine Gael today published the confidential HSE report which shows that the Eastern Health board failed to provide proper care for the child who became a troubled teenager and died on the streets.
The party's Children's Spokesman Alan Shatter accused the government of having a "cover-up mentality" and said the State tried to suppress the report.
But Minister Andrews said it was never his intention to keep the findings a secret.
