Parishioners asked to help fund sex abuse compensation

A Catholic bishop in charge of an Irish diocese plagued by sex abuse scandals and cover-ups has asked parishioners to help fund compensation, it was confirmed today.

Dr Denis Brennan, from Ferns in Co Wexford, said the appeal was not about sharing the blame but asking for help to meet responsibilities.
