A range of 'legal highs' available to purchase over the counter in 'head shops' are due to be banned from next month.

A range of 'legal highs' available to purchase over the counter in 'head shops' are due to be banned from next month.

Drugs Minister John Curran signalled the move saying that a number of the psychoactive substances would be shortly added to the controlled list of substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Many of the head shops specialise in legal alternatives to illegal substances such as cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy.
