Overseas development minister Peter Power is refusing to comment on speculation he may take the vacant place at the cabinet table.

Overseas development minister Peter Power is refusing to comment on speculation he may take the vacant place at the Cabinet table following the resignation of Willie O'Dea.

Mr Power is now the most senior politician in Limerick following Mr O'Dea's resignation.

Speaking in Limerick ths morning, Mr Power said it was "not a day to contemplate Cabinet positions".
