Govt could call Children's Referendum this year
A referendum to amend the constitutional rights of the child could be held by the end of the year.
An Oireachtas Committee on the constitutional amendment will present its final report to the Cabinet later today.
The committee, which is chaired by Fianna Fáil TD Mary O'Rourke has spent months attempting to agree a constitutional ammendment on the rights of the child.
Labour leader Eamon Gilmore has said it will have the support of his party.
